Maya Moore scores 3,000th pt as Huskies crush Duke, advance to Final Four

PHILADELPHIA — The memories of the slugfest two days earlier were weighing heavily on the minds of the UConn women’s basketball team as they took to the Liacouras Center floor tantalizingly close to the program’s 12th trip to the Final Four.
It mattered little that the Huskies were facing a Duke team it humiliated on the last day of January in the Philadelphia Region final Tuesday night. Strange things can happen around this time of the year, something that was evident when Georgetown nearly stunned UConn in the regional semifinals. The Huskies not only believed their hopes of a third straight national title couldn’t end on this night, but they played like it as well.
